On 10 December 2012, an ENCES workshop took place in Berlin in conjunction with the annual meeting and workshop of the German Coalition for Action "Copyright for Education and Research e.V."

The morning session of the workshop dealt with questions of European copyright. Dr. Harald Müller, Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches öffentliches Recht und Völkerrecht, reported on some of the latest developments from the WIPO Standing Committee's work on limitations and exceptions for libraries, archives, education and research. Dr. Karin Ludewig, ENCES, talked on the engagenment of ENCES in the MedOANet project and gave an overview of the copyright landscape in southern Europe. Tobias Mckenney, European IP Policy Manager of Google, reported on recent debates in Brussels on copyright issues.

Altogether, the workshop gave a good overview on recent activities of ENCES and the vivid discussion reflected the interest of the participants in the presented topics.
